Review for 'Girlfriends Secrets' by Author Charmaine Galloway

I have always loved reading books, but they have to catch and keep my attention. If they don’t, I will put it to the side and pick it up when I have nothing else to do. I don’t have a specific genre, just as long as it's thought provoking and entertaining. So when Author Charmaine Galloway asked if I would read and give a review of her book, I was more than happy to be a part of her experience, but a little sceptical. I have read tons of books that flow into the stereotypical, angry black woman, cheating black man, revenge-in-the-end, type of books. I was really hoping this wouldn’t be the same.

As I began reading the storyline and learning about the different characters, I started to want to know more, even before they were fully developed; but I was patient. After reading each line in every chapter, taking in all the little nuances about the lives of the very relatable characters, I was hooked.

Once I felt comfortable enough to trust the author, I couldn’t stop thinking about "Girlfriends Secrets". Even when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about reading. I would patiently wait for my son’s bedtime, so I could delve back into the lives of her characters while he was falling asleep next to me.

Author, Charmaine Galloway, did an excellent job of making you care about each of the characters, even though at times you didn’t want to. Alisha, Brittany, and Tyra are all different and distinguishable, but unforgettable. Don’t do yourself an injustice and think you know what this book will be about, because you don’t. “Never saw it coming," is what I kept repeating to myself.

Charmaine Galloway and her creative mind is one to follow.
