Review for 'Girlfriends Secrets' by Author Charmaine Galloway

I have always loved reading books, but they have to catch and keep my attention. If they don’t, I will put it to the side and pick it up when I have nothing else to do. I don’t have a specific genre, just as long as it's thought provoking and entertaining. So when Author Charmaine Galloway asked if I would read and give a review of her book, I was more than happy to be a part of her experience, but a little sceptical. I have read tons of books that flow into the stereotypical, angry black woman, cheating black man, revenge-in-the-end, type of books. I was really hoping this wouldn’t be the same.

As I began reading the storyline and learning about the different characters, I started to want to know more, even before they were fully developed; but I was patient. After reading each line in every chapter, taking in all the little nuances about the lives of the very relatable characters, I was hooked.

Once I felt comfortable enough to trust the author, I couldn’t stop thinking about "Girlfriends Secrets". Even when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about reading. I would patiently wait for my son’s bedtime, so I could delve back into the lives of her characters while he was falling asleep next to me.

Author, Charmaine Galloway, did an excellent job of making you care about each of the characters, even though at times you didn’t want to. Alisha, Brittany, and Tyra are all different and distinguishable, but unforgettable. Don’t do yourself an injustice and think you know what this book will be about, because you don’t. “Never saw it coming," is what I kept repeating to myself.

Charmaine Galloway and her creative mind is one to follow.

Review of 'Paulie' by M.A. Myers

Review of 'Paulie' by M.A. Myers

Let me start off by saying this: I will watch a scary movie every now and again with someone "clutching my pearls", but I'm not so much into scary books. So, reading 'Paulie' by M.A.Mayers was a jump. Not sure what made me want to read it but when I committed, I committed. Needless to say, it was worth it!

In the beginning, I sort of had the sense that it would be ‘Walking Dead'-ish, and was a little apprehensive but I was wrong. I learn something new everyday and and today I learned to not judge a book based on what you think it will be like. This short story was awesome. I am a M.A.Myers fan! The author writes so vividly, giving you every detail even before you think you’ll need it. He thinks ahead of you, for you

M.A. Myers leaves no question as to what genre you're reading. Even if you don't like horror, give this one a chance. It's not what you think.

I didn’t see the middle or end coming. I was hoping it wouldn’t end, but at the same time, I was holding my breath with anticipation of the next sentence. 'Paulie' is sure to capture your attention and make you want more. If the rest of his work is anything like this short story M.A. Myers has provided us with (for FREE), it's sure to grab the attention of the World.

So looking forward to his next installment, 'Paulie 2'!

I'm not worried...

My new website is up and running! Very excited about that but also have a lot of questions. Should I start a blog on my own website or keep blogging here, or do both? I don't know yet. So until I have an answer I will continue to contribute to Blogger.

So, it's been a while since I have been able to post because of the relentless, all be it enjoyable, grind of being an fresh Indie Author. 'City of the Guardians: Introducing Alex Honor' is finally in production....Yeahhhh. I kept reading and re-reading my book. Always finding better ways of saying this or that. After the 11th time of doing this, I stopped. I have literally shed blood, sweat and many, many tears while writing this book. I have poured my heart and soul into the message behind this book and that my dear friends is all I can do.

I'm not worried about 'City of the Guardians' being received well, I know people will get the message and story. I worry about not getting it to the masses. I only need the opportunity to share the story. That's one of the reason's I created my website http://www.beelkirk.com

I give the reader the opportunity to read the synopsis and a chapter from the book entitled 'No Love'. The book's cover is also posted for your viewing pleasure.

The two characters on the cover are Stilo(Strength) and Rip(Rage).

Can you tell which one is Rip?
